Linguigarchy
The Linguigarchy is what determines how information can flow through the Linguiverse. Not every pattern can become meaningful in every substrate, and not every language can talk directly to every other language.
Overview
There's a strict hierarchy to how meaning moves through reality. Quantum mechanics can't directly describe consciousness, and consciousness can't directly manipulate quantum states. Each level of reality speaks its own language and can only communicate with adjacent levels through careful translations that inevitably lose or transform some information.
Key Characteristics
Hierarchical Structure
- Levels of reality with distinct languages
- Constraints on direct communication between non-adjacent levels
- Emergent properties at each level
Information Flow
- Controlled translation between levels
- Inevitable loss or transformation of information during translation
- Emergence of new meanings through translation processes
Constraints
- Limits on what patterns can be encoded in different substrates
- Boundaries between different domains of meaning
- Rules governing interactions between different types of nodes
